DC Drive Upgrade & Commissioning 3-Hi Rolling Mill

Location : Fiji

Engineering and design of a DC drive upgrade for a 3-Hi rolling mill, replacing legacy AEG master-slave drives and a Siemens S5 PLC with Siemens SINAMICS DCM 6RA80 drives and a Siemens S7 PLC. Scope included control philosophy, system architecture, PLC migration, encoder integration, snubber and choke selection, current transformer arrangement, wiring design, and preparation of engineering drawings to ensure reliable and improved mill performance.
